  1. I read some of the websites regarding stem cell research and overall, I think that it is definitely a positive thing. I think that it has a lot of potential considering they say that it will eventually be able to cure diseases and regenerate different tissues & organs. It is currently being used for Parkinson's disease, Leukemia (bone marrow transplants), and Skin Grafts resulting from severe burns. I don't know about you, but personally, I find it incredible. It truly amazes me how far we have come in medical research. The few bad things that there are about stem cell research would be that it is expensive and people aren't educated about it enough. A little seven-year-old boy my sister knows has hemophilia (a bleeding disorder in which your blood doesn't clot normally). There is no cure for hemophilia, and he has to take shots everyday that prevent him from bleeding as easily. However, doctors have stem cells from his sister that they are using to try and find a cure for him. I think that stem cell research is a great idea and will definitely benefit mankind.

  2. The stem cell websites are really interesting they ahave a lot of information. It help me understan what a stem cell really is or does. I think this is a positive this it can rally help people. Stem cells will help cure deseases and regenerate different tissues & organs which is really good. These stem cells are currently used to cure Parkinon's deases, leukemia and others. Even tho this process is verry expensive it will really help i consider this a great idea.

  3. I think that stem cell research is a definit positive in the world becuse it can help us alot. like the articals said that its able cure diseases and regenerate different tissues and organs. Though i dont think that familys of the lower class can afford the cost to have the benifits. Anyway i think its great...

  4. I believe that stem cell research is highly needed now a days. Technology has advanced immensely and can be used in ways to benefit others. There are so many people out there with diseases with no cure or there just aren't enough donors for a transplant, so why not take advantage of this? This way, it may give hope to some people [even though its very costly]. In the first website it says that "the number of people needing a transplant far exceeds the number of organs available for transplantation" so if there aren't enough organs... then stem cells should be use in order to help cure others. Some do view this as being immoral because in order to do an embryonic stem cell research, they need the blastocyst [laboratory fertilized human egg] to be murder of human life. People view it in different ways, but if something is highly needed to let another life live, then it should be okay.

  5. well stem cell research can be viewed in several ways. i can see tht is isnt very grat but it is. stem cell gives other ways to branch off of tht and just continue ya know? its like picking a flower and planting it in a diffferent spot and then u relise tht it can do other things too. so it definetly makes a step up from past days and gives another step. seeing it in a bad way is for others to think. i think its ok and it does some good along with bad. doesnt everything?

  8. stem cell is going to be a positive thing for us because its going to help out with everything like diseases and cures and others. this is going to cost alot when it happens but i think that if someone needs it that bad that we should try and help them out with it.

  10. i believe as it is a big risk to the patients it should be under theire complete choice whether they wanna undergo stem cell research. the moral values could be that some people dont trust scientists and doctors very much, but the medical positives would be a cure for a very known disease.

  11. I agree with Sara in that it should be the patient's total choice. But yes, overall it is a very good thing. It could definitely save more lives that, and help many people with diseases such as parkinsons disease.

  12. I think its a good thing if its helping others by using skin grafting and cures. It may become expensive for sure, but it would a good thing overall because even though its expensive, it would be helping a lot of people and saving a lot of lives. I also agree that it should first be approved by the patient, but i dont think that would be a big problem.

  13. I can honestly say that before I read this, I didn't know nothing about stem cell research. But after reading,I believe the stem cell research is a good thing. As the others above me said, it's directing us towards cures for diseases and such. I think it's interesting how scientists are trying to use converting cells for finding what causes Parkinson's disease. The only bad thing with stem cell research is the cost. It will definitely have an impact on everyone. But I guess if they can eventually be able to cure diseases from it, then why not right?

  14. I see stem cell research as completely more useful especially with the technology we have. I view it as a positive thing since it is able to help with bone marrow transplants & leukemia. We've come a long way in medical history that stem cell research will benefit man kind enourmously throughout the future. As for the morals I do see it effecting numerous of people differently, especially with the science parts of stem cell research.
